Extended backstory and first impressions information can be found here! Summer's backstory remains largely the same regardless of whether she is played as the WOL or in a non-WOL AU; the key difference lies in whether or not being the WOL (and therefore, getting involved in the MSQ) successfully distracts her from the reason she originally came to Ul'dah: to embezzle a bunch of wealth from the Thaumaturges' Guild, obtain as many crystals as she possibly could, and summon a primal — Azeyma, specifically — to liberate her homeland from the Garleans.
In terms of NPC relationships, I am always happy to discuss what level of preexisting relationship a given NPC might have with her, or to play with a multiverse ("Not My WOL") concept that presumes no relationship outside general recognition at all.
While I enjoy shipping, I am also totally open to playing friendships and gen narratives. Please feel free to discuss your comfort level with me with regard to that!

MISC. NOTES
THREAD PREFERENCES:
• Brackets preferred over prose, but either is fine.
• Present-tense preferred over past-tense, but either is fine.
• Tagging speed is typically daily with occasional boomeranging.
ON CANONPOINTS:
• I'm happy to play Summer from any canonpoint but generally default to one of the following:
-- End of 5.3, Shadowbringers Patches.
-- End of 6.0, Endwalker.
-- Current to existing canon.
ON BACKTAGGING:
• I'm happy to continue tagging an existing thread so long as it continues to progress at a steady pace. Otherwise, I usually prefer to keep threads current and may drop older ones. Please feel free to PM me if you'd like to continue a thread, or start a new one in place of an existing one!

+ shipping and assumed cr
ON SHIPPING:
• Chemistry is my favorite aspect of shipping, so I generally like to let relationships build organically throughout the life of a thread. Barring something like a meme specifically targeted to shipping, I will not assume romantic CR without prior discussion and agreement — but I'm certainly open to it if the characters hit it off or things gravitate in that direction!
ON ASSUMED CASTMATE CR:
• The NPC relationships I'm generally most interested in exploring are:
-- With Thancred, because she started in Ul'dah and he was her recruiting Scion (and subsequently, the Scion she is closest to).
-- With G'raha, especially the intricacies of her relationships with him in his various identities of CT Raids Doofus, Crystal Exarch, and soul-rejoined Scion.
-- With Emet-Selch, both as a relative novice black mage compared to a sorceror of eld, and as someone fascinated with the prospect of a past life she can't remember and hungry for more knowledge about the person she once was.
I am definitely happy to pursue CR with other NPCs and characters from the FFXIV setting in general — the above are just some of my favorites!

WOL CHOICES AND PARTICULARS:
• Her starting city was Ul'dah and her recruiting Scion was Thancred.
• Her grand company is the Immortal Flames.
• She is exclusively a THM/BLM; she does not have any alternative job classes.
• She is a member of the Goldsmith's Guild (largely for mage staff repairs), and once she reaches Endwalker she begins to branch out into ALC and CUL as well.
• The name she uses, "Summer Icarian", is an intentional deviation from Seeker of the Sun traditions. She began using a pseudonym before reaching Ul'dah because she didn't want her activities to be traceable back to her tribe; later, it just became the name all her friends knew her by, and she kept it.
• She does sometimes feel strange about having abandoned her tribal name. By the end of her adventures, and all the identity shenanigans that followed from it, she doesn't feel it's even really her name anymore.
• She is originally from a small tribe in Gyr Abania, and did not know she possessed any particular martial prowess prior to her arrival at the Thaumaturges' Guild. She had previously tried lances, bows, and knives, and was complete garbage at all of them.
• Early in her adventures, she was often plagued by loneliness and a feeling as though she didn't really fit in anywhere, being adjacent to groups but not really part of them. This feeling was exacerbated by repeated losses of the people she cared about just when she began to get close to them — Thancred and the Scions at the end of ARR, G'raha Tia after the Crystal Tower raids, Haurchefant in Ishgard, Papalymo heading into Stormblood.
• Following from this sense of not fitting in or not having a place in the world, she is fascinated by the Xaela legends of Azim and Nhaama, and sometimes wonders if her feelings of isolation are because she is an aberration who, for some reason, simply doesn't have a destined soulmate.
• Obviously this "I feel like there's some part of me that's missing" belief gets really funny when she eventually finds out about being Sundered and the whole Ardbert and Azem thing.
• The silent phrase she spoke at the end of the universe when sending the Scions away was, "Don't worry. This time I know I can do it."

"SUMMERNOR" AU:
When Summer is not the WOL, I generally play her from a "bad decisions and stuck atoning for it" AU wherein, by one means or another, she actually did get away with her plan to procure a bunch of crystals and perform a primal summons in an attempt to fight the Garlean occupation of her homeland. Similar to Ysayle, she summons Azeyma into herself — and, not being particularly educated in the hazards of primal summoning, proceeds to temper her entire tribe in the process.
In the aftermath of her ill-fated summons, Thancred and the Warrior of Light (if otherwise unspecified, will be a Viera WAR named Marcel) are forced to kill most of her tribe as it occurs during a time when there is believed to be no cure for tempering. However, Summer pleads for the life of her childhood friend and co-conspirator in the summoning process, a Tia named Niko, and eventually secures their assistance in helping her escape into the Shroud. She spends a while in hiding at Buscarron's Druthers with Niko, where eventually she becomes driven by a desire to find a cure for tempering and save Niko from the ramifications of her own terrible choices.
To this end, she gives up thaumaturgy and begins pursuing studies as an arcanist, hoping to use whatever secrets of summoning she can uncover to try to find a remedy for tempering. This drive also leads her to a heavy interest in Allagan ruins and relics, hoping to find leads for her research in their remains.
Toward the end of the Dragonsong War, Summer finds her way to Ishgard, where she eventually sets up a small and isolated clinic to continue pursuing her research. She makes trips to Azys Lla whenever she can get away with it, and generally enjoys a level of protection from Aymeric's government in exchange for her work rehabilitating and making accommodations for Elezen victims of the Dragonsong War (you know, the ones who turned into dragons) alongside her tempered patients.
Though she never succeeds in curing tempering — that remains with Alisaie and G'raha in 5.4 — she does make significant advancements in treatment and therapy for tempering prior to the discovery of the cure. As the cure begins to spread throughout the Eorzean League, her continued interest (and now, subject matter expertise) in the aetherology of tempering has her traveling to Thavnair, where she studies at the Great Work and in Radz-at-Han, learning more about Hannish alchemy and their own body of relevant knowledge. Accordingly, she is present in Thavnair during the Final Days, and throughout the onset of the apocalypse puts her knowledge toward trying to combat the effects of dynamis until the cause of the destruction can be defeated once and for all.
